Challenges On Late and Middle Adolescence

Common challenges in middle and late adolescence

Sexuality

Male-Female Sexual :

  • Compared to previous generations, teens are dating earlier.

  • Teens who have tight relationships with their parents are less likely to start sex at a young age; earlier daters are more likely to engage in sex, but not necessarily.

  • Many teenagers "pet" each other without realizing it. Adolescence must overcome a number of hurdles in regard to the aforementioned developmental changes. Many adolescents do not consider themselves to have had sex unless they engage in intercourse.

Sexual relationships

  • Inaccurate or insufficient information about sex causes emotional troubles. Many teenagers are trained to believe that asking questions about sex is inappropriate and humiliating. Since it is difficult for them to consider leaving home, adolescents who have strong parental attachments typically are unable to commit seriously to a relationship. One is likely to seek traits akin to those of their parent while deciding to enter into obligations.

Peer adjustment

  • Before achieving adult status in the community, the peer culture serves as a transitional stage. The satisfactions of social skills that allow one to get to know other young people are necessary for the development of a sense of responsibility. Lack of practice in these areas can result in emotions of inadequacy and disinterest.

Intellectual maturation

  • During this time, attitudes are developed that largely hold true throughout life. Thinking processes are being created that will either provide beneficial problem-solving skills, increased intellectual curiosity, and interest, or a limited perspective, bad faculty habits, and a lack of conceptual depth.

vocational choice

  • Many young people take very little or no steps to prepare for a career. They enroll in courses in school that are simple or required, not those that would be useful to them later in life.

Emotional Maturity

  • Adolescent must learn to control their emotions and direct them toward positive goals if they are to become emotionally mature. They should respond to societal pressures in a way that is socially acceptable. Instead of placing blame on others, they should accept responsibility for their conduct.

Puberty

  • When a man reaches puberty, he has reached the stage of his growth when he is physiologically ready for sexual reproduction. Male and female bodies undergo a variety of physiological changes as a result of the production of various hormones.
