TEMPERATURES

TEMPERATURES

Temperatures vary between the north (colder because higher) and the south of the park. They are different depending on whether you are on the plateau or at the bottom of the canyon: summer is particularly hot and dry at this altitude.

At night, the drop in temperatures generates a cold fog.

TOURISM AND HIKING

A glass bridge called "Grand Canyon Skywalk" was inaugurated on March 20, 2007 at Grand Canyon WestN 2. It allows visitors to be 1300 meters above the void.

Since the nineteenth century, Man modifies the environment of the Grand Canyon. Deforestation and fires are forcing the forests of the northern zone backwards and threatening wildlife.

This peculiarity makes that the hike in the Grand Canyon can become dangerous; it is very easy to get off and much more difficult to climb.
