Crayon is an online technology platform making use of upfront personality profiling to identify (but not exclude) candidates best-suited to specific roles.

The concept arose out of a need to redefine the traditional recruitment process in South Africa. The current status quo of exorbitant commissions, multiple CV formats, and hires that go rogue is a thing of the past.

Crayon's platform allows for quick assimilation of candidate data and therefore instant filtering in search of your ideal employee. With close to 100 candidates signing up each day, Crayon aims to become not necessarily the biggest, but the most informative and data-rich jobs platform in South Africa.

Know Your Candidate!

To be eligible for shortlisting, all candidates must take an extensive online personality assessment. From the results we ascertain how they are likely to behave in the workplace, their strengths and weaknesses, and what motivates them. Each candidate is assigned a primary and secondary personality, a Crayon Grit Score and 5 traits, measured across 40 trait scales.

In addition to personality and trait profiling, we match candidates to roles via our extensive database of pre-defined criteria including qualifications, skills, tools, experience, etc.

We screen and present a carefully curated shortlist, you indicate who you'd liked interviewed by Crayon, and we then have a recorded chat with these humans.

When we're good to go, you'll receive the following:

  • Recorded Zoom interviews
  • Standardised Crayon vitaes
  • Traditional CVs
  • Personality assessment including sample interview questions
  • Crayon Cam - candidate 30-second self-recording (when available)

GRIT SCALE

Crayon's Grit Score offers the ability to measure each candidate on a scale between 1 and 99, using an aggregate of 11 traits that provide an indicator of grit, doggedness and the willingness to persevere in the face of adversity.

We use the results of the personality assessments to establish the personality and traits that resemble your current rock stars. We handle all the admin, you tell us who to use to form the baseline for each role.

Importantly, staff do not sign-up with Crayon and therefore bypass the online platform.
