These changes are crucial and important in shaping us as people for when we grow older.

During the lifetime of the human brain, it continues to go through changes throughout the different ages.

Stage 1: 0 to 10 months

During the first stage of brain development, the only thing happening is the connection and growth of neurons.

Stage 2: Birth to 6 years

From birth to age 6, your brain begins to grow at a rapid speed.

Development of perception and voluntary movement.

Experiences and interactions help shape the well being of one.

Brain is already 95% of it's adult weight.

Enters the Intuitive Thought Substage where everything results in questioning.

Cognitive Functions are a lot more efficient.

The limbic system develops fast:

- Memory

- Emotions

- Regulates bodily functions

Wiring of brain is still in progress.

Reckless behaviour is more likely to happen during these ages.

New brain cells are being made, just at a slower rate

Stage 4: 23 to 65 years

Age 22 is when the brain meets it's peek of development and then continues on for 5 more years until it starts to decline.

Good nutrition and activeness can help keep not only your brain healthy but your mind and body healthy as well.

Prefrontal maturation continues until early adulthood.

- Brain cells become lost in the in more critical areas such as the hippocampus, which is responsible for memories.

- The only way to prevent brain aging is to excercise constantly and have a well balanced nutrition, as well as constant mental stimulation to keep the brain from aging.
