Texas having a Haboob
Samuel L. Anthony S.
Haboob is a strong wind that occurs primarily along the southern edges of the Sahara in Sudan and is associated with large sandstorms and dust storms ,
The Haboob wind pattern is caused by the gust-front(A line of dangerous gusty winds) of cold air from a super cell thunderstorm
The name Haboob comes from the Arabic word habb, meaning “to blow.” The term “haboob” originated as a description for wind and sandstorms/dust storms in central and northern Sudan, especially around the Khartoum area, where the average number of the Haboob occurance is about 24 per year, with the most frequent occurrences from May through September.
The latest Haboob recorded was in Arizona June 10, 2018 but there could be one happening right now, but you don't have to worry if your in Michigan since there is basically no sandstorms in Michigan because there are no deserts in Michigan
