Laila Ali is a professional boxer. Her dad was Muhammad Ali a Professional boxer. She was born December 30, 1977 in Miami Beach, Florida. She lived in a mansion till she was 9 years old. When Laila Ali was 9 her parents divorced.

Teenage years
Laila Ali was a troubled teenager. She dropped out of school and began to fight the older kids. She drove her mom's Jeep without her mother's permission or a driver's license. A few days before her 16th birthday she was caught stealing a tank top, so she was put on probation for 1 year. Her older friend she didn't know that well told her he would get her whatever she wanted. She got clothes up to $1,000 dollars and, he gave her his credit card that ended up being fraudulent. Laila got charged for fraud credit card. She went to jail for 1 year and then was sent to a girls only home because her mom said she felt overpowered by her daughter.

Laila Ali has had many challenges growing up. Her parents divorced when she was 9. After going to jail the judge decided to send her to a girls only home. She also had to deal with the fact that her father did not approve of her not becoming Muslim.

She also had to prove to her dad why she didn't want to become muslim. She also had to get comfortable around all these girls when she was sent to a girls only home.
