LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

I have always prided myself on being able to take on challenges head on and not giving up until I have completed the task. Anyone that has trained with me when joining the DDG family has probably heard me say that I am good at my job because I’m lazy! Meaning that I will find a better, faster way than having to take the long, tedious route.

With that said, DDG has taken a big leap forward in technology to keep up with today's tech savvy generation, which has exposed me to new challenges that are out of my comfort zone. While these new challenges have not come easy to me, I have learned more in the last year than I have in a long time, which has made me better as an employee.

I’ve also learned in my 15 or so years with DDG that you can learn a lot by reaching out to the resources we have within our DDG family. There are some really intelligent people within our company. Some with many years of experience which is critical to our success as a company. We have some with less on job experience, but have lots to offer in the ways they utilize the new tools and technology that is available to us today.

I want to challenge the DDG team to do the same, get out of your comfort zone, learn from the people around you, and grow as a person for the betterment of yourself and the team around you.

Coastal Center & Bayou Region Incubator at Nicholls State University

DDG is excited to work in collaboration with CPRA, Lafourche Parish Government, and Nicholls State University on a new Coastal Center and Bayou Region Incubator, which will be housed on Nicholls State University's campus. The Coastal Center will consist of classrooms and research space for coastal challenges of the Atchafalaya River Basin, as well as a visual learning component. DDG's team will work with Lafourche Parish Government, Nicholls, CPRA, and stakeholders to identify the site and building purpose, conduct preliminary project research, establish goals and objectives, collect data and analysis, identify strategies, quantitative requirements and document the finding into a comprehensive Building Program which will be used to prepare Schematic Design documents for the new center.

WEST

FELICIANA

PARK

WEST FELICIANA PARK

Utilizing Land and Water Conservation Funds from the US Department of the Interior, DDG assisted the West Feliciana Parish Government with park enhancements by taking an initial community aspiration into a visionary master plan, then transforming it into reality. That vision included a community spray pad, walking trails with a fishing pier and boardwalk, and a restroom / changing room. Opening of the $500,000 park enhancement is slated for late Spring 2020 and has the entire St. Francisville community waiting in anticipation.
