The speed of an object is the distance the object moves per unit of time.
Speed is the distance an object travels per unit of time. So we need to know how far the distance is and how long it took to get there
Lets say you drove 60 miles in 2 hours. The distance is 60 miles and the time it took to get there was 2 hours
The formula is speed=distance/time or s=d/t
S=60/2
Your speed is 30 miles per hour or 30 mph
Force is the push or pull on an object.
To calculate force you need to know the objects mass and its acceleration
2
Let say you were 45 kg. You were walking and started to accelerate at 2 m/s
2
The objects mass is 45 kg and the acceleration is 2 m/s
The formula to find force is Force=mass x acceleration or F=ma
The unit to measure force in is N for Newtons
2
F=45 kg x 2 m/s
F= 90 N
So your force would be 90 Newtons or 90 N
Acceleration is the rate at which the velocity changes.
To calculate Acceleration you need to know the initial velocity, the final velocity, and the time it took
Lets say you drive a car for a constant speed on 10 mph for 5 hours. You increase your speed to 28 mph for 1 hour
Your initial velocity is 10 mph. Your final velocity is 28 mph. The total time was 6 hours
The formula for acceleration is the final velocity-initial velocity/time or vF - vI /t
(28)-(10)/6 = 18/6
2
Your acceleration was 3 mph/h or 3 mph
