Becoming center of attention

June 14, 2015

On June 14, 2015 when the police found Dee Dee, Gypsy's mother, stabbed to death in their house. So many questions were being asked as to what happened that night and to make it even more intense Gypsy was nowhere to be found, which people started to worry and were suspicious because she was known as the ill girl with many medical issues.

Dee Dee made Gypsy pass herself off as younger and made her pretend to be disabled and chronically ill, subjecting her to unnecessary surgery and medication, and controlling her through physical and psychological abuse.

Godejohn told officers that he did Gypsy the favor because he wanted to save her from the torture that Dee Dee was putting her through.

The ones who were involved in the incident were Gypsy and her boyfriend at the time, Godejohn.

Guilty or Innocent?

According to Harrison keegan, publisher for Springfield News- Leader, writes, “Gypsy pleaded guilty to second degree murder”. Greene County Prosecutor Dan Patterson took in consideration all the abuse that Gypsy went through with her mother.

Plea Agreement

He made a plea agreement for 10 years in prison due to the fact of the abuse her mother put her through. Patterson told the news people that he believed Gypsy would have spend the rest of her life in prison, but he added on that it had to be fair. Mike Stanfield, Gypsy’s attorney, was able to reveal decades worth of abuse Dee Dee put Gypsy through. Gypsy will only have to spend 10 years behind bars and she’s eligible for release.
