Roller Coaster Proposal

Killer Whale Thrills

Dream World Coaster

December 15, 2017

SUMMARY

Mission

We strive to become a Global Sea World Amusement Phenomena. To become the company that brings joy to our customers, who take part Sea World Adventures.

The Line Starts Here

Vision

We want to partner with you to make THE MULTI-SPIRALING coaster. The coaster is designed around inversions, and the best examples combine a high number of inversions with an interesting track design. Bolliger & Mabillard are the undisputed kings of the roller coasters. We plan to over throw them!!!

Competition

This is Fury 325 arguably the best coaster B&M have made. It is located at Carowinds in Charolette North Carolina.

How Will We Make This Happen?

To surpass all competition we plan to innovate the pre-existing king's ideas with the new advancements of technology and the creativity of our design and management teams. We plan to have:

  • A lauched Takeoff
  • Inversion
  • Faster Speed
  • Bigger Hills/Drops
  • Virtual Reality
  • YOU!!

Talk Is Cheap Without Actions

Although the idea of a new roller coaster and all the ideas we present are exciting and thrilling there are alot of time, preperation, and other valuable assets that we need to go over. So with further analysis, we have calculated the overall price, energy levels needed to maintain safety, duration, size, force interruption and possible outlooks.

Element of Development

Elements

Potential Energy

Potential Energy

Potential energy is the energy an object has because of its position. Since our coaster is special it follows a new law for potential energy, usually the greatest amount of potential energy is at the highest point of a roller coaster(the top of the first hill), but for us it will be the start. Our highest potential energy will be the energy stored for the initial lauch of the coaster. This will require crazy amounts of energy. Our energy will be stored with hydralic fluid before it is transferred to the train by a propulsion system. We will maintain this energy by having hills and spirals of various lengths.

Kinetic Energy

Kinetic Energy

To keep kinetic energy going in our spiral coaster, we've decided to implement hills to keep momentum of the cart foward. The highest point of kinectic energy has not yet been decided we would need to finish the prototype model to further examine it.

Kinetic is the energy an object has because of its motion. By applying a force to a stationary object, movement occurs. After the work has been done, energy will be transfered to the object. In our case, when our roller coaster hydraulic fluid is propelled into the train it will converted into kinectic energy (ALOT OF IT BTW!!) We are talking over 4,000 Amps.

Gravity

Gravity

Our main goal is to make sure our customers are happy. We plan to sastisfy each customer by making them feel weightless and suspended in space. When the force caused by acceleration and the force caused by gravity are in opposite directions, they cancel each other out to a certain degree, making you feel light as air. When both forces are in the same direction, you feel very heavy, but rapidly switching between these two conditions is what makes a roller coaster such and exhilarting experience. Our coaster will have different ropes of track with acceleration and gravity contrasting, leaving our customers with an unforgettable experience.

Elements of development

Of

Friction

Friction

We all know that roller coasters have the common friction of air resistance and the wheels heating on the rails, but that won't be all for our roller coaster because we don't have just an ordinary roller coaster. Our coster will be rocketed up the hill so we will need more resistance to make sure our roller coaster can complete all spirals and turns safely. To complete this we have to use linear paths, but that's not all, we also have to use resistance brakes. We will have to place these at the top of hill where the potential energy is the greatest so that the roller coaster decelerate smoothly. If you don't know what resistance brakes are think about how the roller coaster stops at the end.

Duration

Duration

The Roller Coaster will approxitmately last 195 seconds. This equates to 3 mins and 15 seconds. This is nowhere in the race for the longest rollercoaster nor is it for the shortest. This is a great time though for the roller coaster because of the virtual reality attribute. It gives our customers enough time to be begging for more of the experience without saying it was too short to enjoy. This is also enough time for our VR engineering team to make an excellent experience which won't take more than a year to make.

Virtual Reality

The VR aspect will take our coaster to the next level. Once the guest are strapped in safe they will be asked to put on the goggles above their heads. This will make the experience optional not every one will want to and we don't want to force them to. There is one catch though, if the rider does not put on the goggles at the beginning of the ride they will not be able to put them on during the ride. This is for safety reasons. You will be placed in the experience of a killer whale that has just been set free into the wild. The ride starts slow and steady which will resonate with you being uncaged and then you speed off into the ocean swimming as fast as possible which is equates to the lauched start. Through out the ride you jump through surface and make various spins out of excitement which corresponds with the spirals and hills until you reach you family and swim away with them as a reunion, ending the ride.

Number of people

Number of people

The roller coaster will be able to hold 24 people on each train. Each train will have 6 cars and each car will have 4 seats. This roller coaster will also have 2 trains. We designed it like this so that as soon as one leaves the station the other is unloading and loading. You will have to be 54" tall (4'5"). The ride will also be handicap accesible. The seats will have a chair for them to sit and not hang.

Size

The rides first drop will be 200 ft (60m). The ride also has a launched start and the ride will be able to have the max speed of 75 mph. When this coaster is built and starts to operate it will be the second tallest inverted coaster in the world (Falling closely behind the Wicked Twister). It will also be the fastest inverted roller coaster in the world.

Budget

Budget

To build this roller coaster it will be costy. The budget for this coaster will be 35 million dollars. I know this may seem extreme, but its not we have to support the VR teams to make the virtual experience for the ride. The ride is made out of steel which is the newest and latest but its also the only one that can support this structure. Its also going to be inverted, so the seats and track are made specially. The roller coaster will also have a lauched start to increase the speed and excitement of the ride.

Area

Area

We would love to build the coaster behind the Splash Attack. We chose this location because it helps keep the central theme of the orca whale near each other and secondly it would revamp the area with something exciting for all ages besides the Shamuni Adventure. We have not yet calculated the exact square footage we would need, but we will have all the information to scale after the prototype is complete.
