Summary CB

Summary

CB

- Adam and Eve lived in the garden of Eden, surrounded by plants and animals.

-Adam and Eve are the start of sin. Before creation, God knew they would create sin and follow Satan.

-the tree was called "The tree of knowledge of good and evil"

- God let them eat the fruit from every tree exept one. If they ate from this tree they would know the difference between good and evil, they would eventually die.

-The serpent manipulated Adam and Eve and told them that they wouldn't die. Eve ate the fruit and convinced Adam to eat it as well.

-After eating the fruit, Adam and Eve felt a waft of guilt, and shame hit them. They tried covering themselves with leaves however it was no use

-When God visited them, he could instatly tell his perfect creations felt

ashamed, he knew they ate the fruit

- “And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden,

and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid

myself.”- Genesis 3:10

- ‘naked’ meaning God had seen heir sin,

Punishment

sorces: https://www.gradesaver.com/the-bible/q-and-a/what-punishments-are-given-to-the-serpent-to-eve-to-adam-305930

Punishment

-As punishment for disobaying, he banished them from the garden of eden, forcing them to fend for themselves.

-He took away the serpents legs forcing him to move on his stomach.

- He then made Eve and all women to edure excrusiating pain while giving birth. Adam was forced to partake in manual labour to provide for the family.

-the final punishment was mankind would no longer live forever

- "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." Genesis 3:22

-Theology refers to this event as the "fall of man" because, against God's wishes, they consumed the fruit that gave them the ability to differentiate between good and evil.

-because of the events that took place that day, we constantly relive the punishments of their actions

- this is part of the reason why baptism is so important, it helps us errase initial sin we are born with because of them

The Relationship with God

AW

-Adam and Eve are the ones being tested.

-God had almost a parental relationship with Adam and Eve since He is the one that created them.

-He told them what not to do, and gave them the necessities to live a fulfilling life. Then, just like every parent would do, He punished them when they disobeyed Him.

- although Adam and Eve were punished, in the end God still forgave them, he tried fixing their relationship

Connection

The connection?

- every time we sin its directly connects to the sin that was commited in the garden

- by chosing sin, you are being unfaithful to God

-Adam and Eve placed their trust in Satan and not in God, which is what we do every time we sin

The Symbol SM

Symbol: apple - the forbiden fruit

The symbol represents the fruit Adam and Eve ate

The deeper meaning however is temptation

The snake tempted Adam and Eve with the fruit (apple) from the tree). Although God said to not eat the apple they still did and were punished for taking the temptation from the devil

Symbol: Serpent

In the covenant, this represented the devil, or in other words temptation and sin

He was also a big part of the temptation Adam and Eve faced

Moral of the Story LD

Moral of the Story

LD

- The key wisdom is to always trust God, and the dangers of temptation

-We can clearly see this in Adam and Eve

- They believed eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they would be as powerful as God. Instead, God banished the couple from Paradise.

- God felt betrayed and in deep pain when they sinned against him. God feels great emotion when we sin, as he knows that sin hurts you rather than him, every sin is attracted towards evil.

- in result, they suffer the conciquences of not being faithful of the lord

- “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

-its even stated in the our father “and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

-By asking God to deliver us from evil, we acknowledge that we need the guidance of God to lead us on the path of righteousness which is modeled for us.)

- In life, you will be tempted by things (more commonly now: peers, social media, sin, etc).

-These things may try to pull you away from your faith, however it's important to stay faithful.
