- Joseph was Jacob's favorite son. Jacob gave Joseph a special robe.
- Joseph's two dreams made his brothers hate him even more.
- All of Joseph's brothers wanted to kill Joseph
- Yet insisted to put Joseph in a pit
- Other brothers attacked Joseph and took his robe. Threw him into a pit. Then sold him to a merchant
- Brothers lied to their father saying Joseph was dead
