An unusual birth/ childhood

When Moana was very young, she was chosen by the water to reunite the heart and the island goddess Te Fiti. After that she always had the urge to be by the water.

The call to adventure

Moanas call to adventure starts when the heart of Te Fiti was stolen,and she must deliver the heart back to save her village

She first crosses the threshold when she begins the acceptance of her call to adventure.

The challenges or Trials

Some challenges Moana experienced was the Kakamoras, the crab, tamatoa, storms, and finally Teka.

Supernatural helper or mentor

Moana´s mentor was her grandmother. She tells her where to venture, later on she becomes a sting ray and helps her through her journey.

The special Weapon

The special weapon

The special weapon Moana uses is water. It guides her in the right direction, takes her the right path and puts her back on the boat when Maui throws her off and saves her chicken a few times.

The abyss or Temptation

The abyss or Temptation

After Maui´s hook is damaged him and Moana give up. After Maui leaves her she loses all hope and tells the ocean to choose someone else and she wants to go home.

The transformation

The transformation

When Moana gives the heart to raging Teka who then transforms to the quiet and peaceful Te Fiti this restores order and beauty to the oceans and islands again

The return home

Moana takes the boat and the supplies given to her as a gift from Te Fiti and sails home on a calm sea. Once she returns home she sees her family and friends already celebrating the better life on the island.

The mastery of two worlds

After Moana becomes chief her people became voyagers once again. They set sail to explore the oceans while maintaining a happy life on their island. This step is shown when moana places a shell on a stack of flat rocks to symbolize that her people would no longer be staying still on the island but out in the ocean too.
