Scotch Brite Sponge

Raw Materials aquired are

  • Cellulose-from Wood Pulp
  • Sodium Sulphate-common chemical
  • Hemp Fiber- A plant

Stage 3

  • cellulose fiber

Stage 4

There are five steps in the Manufacturing process.

  • Cellulose is soaked in water and mixed with chemicals to make it soft.
  • Mixed in a empty barrel which includes sodium sulphate crystals and hemp fibers.
  • Mix is then spilled in molds and cooked.
  • Sodim Sulphate crystals drain away, leave holes in sponge and mix , when it cools, becomes hard.
  • Soaked in bleach, cleaned, and softened with water.
  • Sponge blocks cut to small size and finally packaged.

  • plastic packaging

Sponge shipping

  • compacted with hydralic presses and tied together to save the transportation cost.
  • compacted sponges kept in warehouse to get ready for shipping.
  • shipping containers are loaded on truck, train, ETC. for sponges to be in stores.

Stage 7

  • used to wash dishes-pots and pans
  • used to absorb, quickly clean, scrub, wipe
  • wash in dishwasher and reuse
  • according to reviews, "it lasts a long time"

  • It will not contaminate water if disposed of.
  • It is a disposable sponge to be thrown away.
  • it will not end up in a landfill.
  • Scotch Brite is reusable.
  • According to a review, "the six pack lasts longer than the cheap kind."
