Beowulf
And...
Grendel
Welcome to Beowulf.
Here we will examine the good v.s evil dichotomy in two of its characters:
THE GOOD:
BEOWULF
When Beowulf learns that Grendel has no weapons, he refuses to use weapons as well.
"He has no idea of the arts of war... but he does possess a wild strength."
He fits the respectful fighter archetype.
Beowulf defeats Grendel
with his own hands,
He outsmarts Grendel,
luring him into a trap, contrasting his tact with Grendel's fury.
He RIPS off Grendel's arm,
saving the mead-hall.

The Bad AND The Ugly:
Grendel
"Then, his rage boiled over, he ripped open the mouth of the building, maddening for blood."
Grendel is deranged and bloodthirsty. He ONLY wants blood, nothing else. The lack thereof ENGRAGES him.
