Thesis VII

The monster stands at the threshold of the becoming

Monsters are our children

having a child is something we cant get rid of. They will always be a part of us.

"This thing of darkness I acknowledge mine."

He uses this as a metaphor because once the darkness starts creeping in it becomes a part of us no matter how hard we try to push it away.

We created the monster so they become our child.

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is a scientist who builds a monster out of straps of dead bodies and then abandons the monster when it awakens.

Frankenstein rejects his monster

When Frankenstein creates the monster, the monster becomes his child. He abandons the monster when he sees the hideous creature he has created, but no matter how hard Frankenstein tries to reject it and run away from it, it is always there.

The monster was his darkness who Frankenstein had created and would constantly try to get rid of, but would always come back and taunt him.

Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Subtopic 1

Dr. Jekyll fails

He soon realizes that its harder for him to control his bad side and ends up killing himself before it gets worse.

We often try to control our bad side by thinking we are fine and pushing the darkness away when it creeps up on us and the darkness ends up growing inside us and becomes a part of who we are on a day to day basis.

Conclude

People often talk about the made up monsters that sleep under your bed or beasts that go on killing sprees, but not a lot of people talk about the monsters that we create inside us and always creep up on us .

We should fear the monsters that live inside us the most.
