Why Did Openhimer Create The Atom Bomb

J Robert Openhimer's enduring impact on scientific research and development was a breakthrough in science and was able to put him down genius.

As today movies about him has been created in his honor to show the history and the making of the first atomic bomb.

Openhimer was a one of a kind scientist and as he quote "Now I am Death, the Destroyer of Worlds."

Later Years

Durring the time of World War II Albert Einstine who was a renound scientis at the time warned the U.S. of Germany's plan on creating an atomic Wepon, this lead to the U.S. to be the first to create the atomic bomb to be able to put a swift end to the war and be able to develop it before other countries to have the upper hand in the war. The U.S. appointed J Robert Openhimer as the director of the project and to lead a bunch of scientists and militarty personal to create the first atomic wepon. This very project was named the Manhatten Project.

Atomic Bombs and Energy TOday

In todays time atomic energy is no longer used in a majority of the bombs created but its still useful and wildly used around the world as a form of power pland to create energy and electricity.

  • In his later years Openhimer belived that the atomic bomb was to powerful and to dangurose and should never be used in war but his intelegence still belived that atomic energy could help the world.

  • Oppenheimer continued to work in academia and made significant contributions to theoretical physics. He served as the director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton from 1947 to 1966, where he worked on quantum field theory and astrophysics.

  • In his later life he worked on ideas that could bring science and society together, he later dies in 1967 of throught cancer.

Harvard

Early Life

Harvard Gate in 1925 the school that

J Robrt Openhimer was born in april 22 1904 in New York City, New York.

He gain a bachlors degree in Chemistry at Harvard University in 1925 and he later gained a doctorate in physics from the university of Gottengen in 1927.

In 1936 he became a proffesor in the University of California where he He made significant contributions to theoretical physics.

In 1942 Oppenheimer was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project and in 1943 he was appointed director of the project's Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico which was tasked with developing the first ever nuclear weapon.

An Exploration of J Robert Openhimer And The Atomic Bombs Impact In The World

Controversies

After the war J Robert Openhimer was devistated of the bomb he created and was absolutley terrified of its power. People belived that the atomic bomb is a tool that no man should own. This prevented Openhimer with further creating more bombs like the hidrogen bomb, In the following years he was taken to court for suspicion of being a communist but was later found not guilty. This cuort case took away his ontract as adviser to the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

Role in Project

The Manhattan Project

J Robert Openhimer's pivotal role in the initiation and execution of the Manhattan Project was crucial he was the director of the whole project and forseen the making of the bomb. He lead the team of scientist and militery personal to develop the first atomic bomb with his strong leadership and scientific briliance that was instrumental in the projcts successs.

Post-War Era

  • The Manhatten Project was a top-secret reserch and development group durring World War II to develop the first atomic bomb.

  • It was Initiated by the United States with a goal to bring a swift end to the war

  • The Manhatten project brought together multiple briliant minds to create this atomic wepon these scientist and military personal include:
  • J Robert Openhimer
  • Leo Szilard
  • Hans Bethe
  • Ernest O. Lawrence
  • Klause Fuches
  • and Glenn Seaborg

  • the fisrt sucessful test of the atomic bomb was

in 1945 in the Mexico Dessert.

  • The use of The Atomic BomB that was created by the Manhatten project was first deployed in August 6 1945 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

  • The deployment of this atomic bombs absolutly destroyed 2 major cities in japan wich in the end made them surrender the war.

  • The creation of the atomic bomb was a big impact at the time as it shows the power and distruction mankind can bring to the world and showed that the us being the first to create it puts them in the top of the world.
