what is fentynal's mechanism of action

MCQ Answer

Fentynal binds to the opioid receptors on the post-synaptic terminal. This causes the release of a subunit from g-protein that opens the potassium channels. Positively charged ions flow through the channel, making the neuron more negative and making it more difficult for an action potential to form and a message to send.
