the body uses Carbohydrates as a primary source of energy and the energy that the brain uses. they are also broken down into glucose, and glucose is used as fuel for our cells tissues and organs
There are many different food with carbs but two are bread, and corn.
bread has 15 carbs for 30g or one slice
an ear of corn has about 41 carbs for a cup of corn has roughly 30 grams.
Lipids are a large and varied group of biomolecules that are generally not solluable in water. Made mostly from Carbon and Hydrogen atoms.
1. Carbon
2. Hydrogen
3. Oxygen
No Monomer or Polymer
There are many different examples of Lipids
Cheese is an example of lipid
Another example of lipid is cooking oil
Protein is large molecules that play a important part for the body.
The building blocks of protein is Amino Acids, which are small molucules, The Amino Acids are also the monomer for proteins
Elements- Nitrogen/N, Carbon/C, Hydrogen/H, Oxygen/O, and Sulfur/S
Chemical Sructure-
The Proteins are what the body uses to repair or build the body's tissues, and builds muscles. They also are enzymes which bind molecules to make chemical reactions faster. they act as an immune a function, and are used for energy.
One example is for building muscle. When you work out or use muscles it creates tiny micro tears in your muscles, that's why you are sore after you do an activity that uses muscles. The Amino Acids then help create new fibers, which heal the micro tears and this is how muscles get bigger.
Another example is enzymes, enzymes are made up of proteins which are comprised of amino acids linked together in one or more chains. Trypsin is an enzyme that breaks down proteins into amino acids in the small intestines.
This is Trypsin
1. Carbon
2. Hydrogen
3. Oxygen
4. Nitrogen
5. Phosphorus
A Monomer is: Nucleotides
There are ONLY 2 examples of a Nucleic Acid.
DNA
RNA
