Overview of the Syndrome

The Uner Tan Syndrome is a genetic mutation where the people who have the syndrome walk on their hands and feet. It is caused by a number of genes that have mutations on them. An example of a gene with a mutation is the TUBB2B mutation. Most of the people affected by this mutation are found in Turkey and the surrounding countries.

The Causes

The Causes

  • The Uner Tan Syndrome is caused by a homozygous TUBB2B gene.
  • It is associated with intrafamilial marriages.
  • This suggests autosomal recessive transmission.

Some symptoms of the Uner Tan Syndrome are:

  • The person's brain is not fully devoloped
  • Speech is slurred
  • The person affected walks on his/her hands and feet

The way that it is apparent that a person has Uner Tan Syndrome is that he/she has to walk on his/her hands and feet.
