Natural Breeding

  • The production of offspring by a sexual or asexual process.
  • A method of reproduction where there is little to no human help/interaction

Cloning

  • Ex: Putting a bull with a herd of cows to get bred

  • Ex: Breeders using skin or somatic cells to replicate a deceased or old key factor in their breeding program

Ex: Using an excellent show cows eggs and inserting them into a surrogate or many to spread the genetics

Artificial Insemination

  • the deliberate introduction of sperm into a female's cervix or uterine cavity for the purpose of achieving a pregnancy by means other than sexual intercourse.

Ex: Inseminating a Gilt (female pig that has not been bred before) for her first litter
