Just because the rights in the Constitution are not listed directly, do not mean that people don't have any other rights.
It was important to add to the Constitution because the Founding Fathers could not include every single right that people have, so they made the Amendment so that we have other rights not listed.
It effects us today by giving us others rights not listed in the Constitution. If we did not have The Ninth Amendment, we might even only have just the rights in the Constitution!
