Reopening Plan

The library team is working implement new safety requirements for phase 2 and planning to reopen the library to the public.

Anacortes Parks and Recreation

The second session of Camp Active is open and filling up!

Thompson trail use and visitation is up over 25% compared to 2109. Our community is taking advantage of our beautiful outdoor spaces!

City Budget for fiscal year 2021

We are currently in the process of evaluating the proposed City Budget for fiscal year 2021.

A public hearing was opened at the November 2nd council meeting, which will continue to run at least through the next meeting on November 16th.

Log into the next council meeting to voice any thoughts you have on the City’s budget, so those comments can be considered by City Council in the final budget!

Planning, Community and Economic Development

  • 18 businesses who were selected to received funding through the Small Business Stabilization Grant provided by the Skagit Community Foundation will be notified this week.

This funding supports businesses as they whether the economic uncertainty of COVID-19.

  • The City's permitting numbers remain strong and our remote and virtual process has proven itself to be efficient. As of right now we have issued:
  • 49 new Single Family Residential Permits year (compared to 43 last year)
  • 148 Single Family Residential alterations (compared to 137 last year)
