WMS Day

Typical Day at WMS

  • 1st period begins at 10:00 am
  • Students have 2 minutes in-between classes
  • Lunch every day is 5th period from 12pm-12:28pm
  • Academic school day ends at 1:58 pm
  • Extra help is available by Appointment only!
  • 7:45am-9:30am
  • 2:15pm-3:10 pm
  • Sports and virtual clubs will begin at 3:10 pm
  • Busing is available at 3:30 pm with a pass from teacher or coach.

Classroom/Online Etiquette

  • Be prompt and prepared with supplies
  • Record attendance and choose your emoji
  • Dress appropriately
  • Show your face the entire time during the lesson
  • Optional virtual backgrounds available
  • Participate in class and complete assignments online
  • Students and/or parents are not permitted to record lessons and/or take photographs of teachers when they are teaching or appear on camera
  • A teacher’s image and likeness are only permitted for instructional purposes and may not be rebroadcast without the prior permission from that teacher
  • Extra help is available daily, however, you must schedule an appointment w/ your teacher

High Honor Roll: Must acquire an overall GPA of 89.5 to 100% in all subjects.*

*No failure in any subject and we are examining a minimum score in core subject

National Junior Honors Society

What is National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)?

A prestigious organization that focuses on scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship for students in grades 7-9. Students will need to apply at the end of 10th grade to National Honor Society (NHS), which is for grades 11-12.

How do I become a member of NJHS?

Students in grades 7 and 8 must have a cumulative GPA of 90 or above over three marking periods to receive an application to become a member of NJHS. You will be notified in April/May 2021 if you qualify to apply. Applications require students to elaborate on how they exemplify the key components of NJHS. The NJHS application has four components:

Community Service Log (minimum of ten (10) hours)

*Note - There are many virtual options for earning your community service hours! Email Ms. Blenk or Ms. Peralta if you would like more information.

Teacher Recommendations (total of three (3) teachers)

Leadership Statement (paragraph)

Character and Citizenship Essay (1-2 pages)

What happens if I am inducted into NJHS?

Once inducted, you do not need to reapply for NJHS from year to year. However, you must complete twenty (20) hours of community service throughout the year and submit a one-page reflection on your community service experience at the end of the year.
