Multicultural Action Plan

All about me

ABOUT ME

My full name is Blanca Irene Roque, I was born and raised here in Houston, Texas. My religion would be catholic. For race, I'm considered to be white. Now, for my ethnicity I'm hispanic, to be precise mexican american,

ANCENSTORS

ANCESTORS

The continents or continents I believe my ancestors are from are from the Navajo Nation since my dad's side I have a Navajo family. For my other side I would believe they're from Oaxaca, Mexico.

RACE

RACE

In my opinion, the concept of race came from when people started grouping people based on the way they looked, over their color of their skin, features or just the way they identified or seem to looked. I think majority was developed based on to just keep them with their own people so they had a way to keep them grouped.

EXPERIENCES

EXPERIENCES

My first experience when interacting with people of a different race was positive never bad, I always found everyone to be the same regardless of race. For religion, I never really had difficulties with that either, we all have different beliefs and I complete accept that without judgements. So its basically the same with socioeconomic status, sexual orientation and ethinicities I never had difficulties with it.

WHAT I LEARNED

DIFFERENCES

I've learned a lot from both family and friends about cultural diversity. Cultural diversity doesn't make us any different, we are all the same. Like my parents say, "we all shed the same color blood". They've always taught me to never look at someone differently no matter the race, ethnicity, religion sexual orientation or etc. I love everyone flaws and all, I think everyone should have that mindset.

STEREOTYPES

Even though its wrong of me to stereotype other groups by the way the seem to look, I've stereotyped thinking scientist were the "nerds" in school when in reality anyone can be a scientist if they choose to be one. Another one, would be thinking all asians are doctors or dentists which is wrong of me because its just me stereotyping again.
