Black stork

In Spain, black storks live in the north of Extremadura and in Castilla y León, there are some nature reserves like the Nature Reserve of the Sierra de Malcata and the Natural Park of Arribes del Duero.

There are about 500 couples in Oriental Europe

Cantabrian capercaillie

They usually live in the north of Spain like Asturias, Cantabria, and Castilla y León. There are 300 specimens in the Cordillera Cantábrica.

Even though they are classified as an endangered specie people still hunt them illegally

Plant species

Plant endemic species in Spain

It only lives in the Tenerife Island specifically in the Teide. There are only 150 specimens but it enjoys protection and conservation status at local, regional, state and even European level, established since 1992

It lives in the Canary Islands, there are very few but in Tenerife and Gran Canaria it's more numerous, 14 individuals in Tenerife and 50 in Gran Canaria, and it's part of a conservation program in the islands
