we chose this topic not only to expand our knowledge on these types of foods but also introduce them to our participants and help them broaden and be aware of their options. Many people don’t understand the difference between organic and inorganic foods/snacks. Such as us before we undertook this research. It is essential to be aware of what one puts into their body and the effects it could have on the body and mind physically and mentally. It is also important to be aware of the chemicals that go into our food from the moment that they are planted and harvested.
The difference between organic and inorganic foods is how they are processed and their agriculture. Their big difference starts with farming. Organic foods are not allowed to have any sort of chemical or be genetically modified. Farmers cannot use fertilizers when farming their organic foods. Also, organic food cannot come into contact with organic foods.
Inorganic foods particularly use a variety of chemicals when farming their crops. Farmers use pesticides or other forms of chemicals, such as fertilizers. Pesticides are used to prevent any bugs or pests. On the other hand, fertilizers are used for plant growth or to supply nutrients. Both of these are applied on the soil while the crops are still growing.
Null Hypothesis:
The taste difference between organic and inorganic foods is independent
There is a difference in taste between organic and inorganic foods.
Alternative Hypothesis:
The taste difference between organic and inorganic foods is dependent.
There is not a difference in taste between organic and inorganic foods.
Each participant was required to fill out a consent form, each recipient was asked if they had any allergies or conditions that would withhold them from participating in the experiment.
1. the participants open up a survey that was created to collect their observations and opinions on each organic and inorganic food and compare and contrast each inorganic and organic food.
2. After each food, before going onto the next, they water down their pallets to not affect or mix any observations with the following food item.
3. After eating all the items they continue filling out the survey and explain how the experiment influenced them and their overall experience and observations.
For the first test, the results were consistent. The participants noticed that the inorganic chips are more salty than the organic chips, inorganic cookies are sweeter and more moist than the organic cookies, and the organic carrots were more bitter and more colorful compared to the inorganic carrots. For the second test the results were consistent with the first test. The participants noticed that the inorganic chips are more salty than the organic chips, inorganic cookies are sweeter and more moist than the organic cookies

Strengths throughout this experiment were having consistent results. Throughout the full course for both tests all results were consistent which helped backup our claim of organic and inorganic foods tasting different. Some weaknesses throughout the experiment was the amount of data that could be collected. The collecting of data was very limited since our experiment wasn’t based on measuring or different samples which made it difficult to put it in statistical form. Limitations within the experiment were the types of snacks we used. We wanted to make sure we purchased foods that were going to be easier for the participants to test depending on their preferences, to help them feel more comfortable. Next steps for our research we would like to inform people within our community of healthier and more affordable alternatives and teach them the benefits of organic and inorganic foods. Having a full understanding of how much food impacts our bodies is essential to being able to live a healthy life. Depending on the food you consume it could cause many health issues if you don’t follow a healthy diet, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and many other diseases. Being able to sustain a healthy diet is essential to having a healthy body, which is why it is important to learn different alternatives so it can become more affordable and easy to sustain.
