When she was little she moved to California. She loved being outside with lots of adventure. She also loved to read. She says "Some of my favorite memories from when I was a child was reading with my father."
Draanen if the daughter of two Dutch chemists. They immigrated to America, settling in Chicago. Eventually they had two daughters and two sons. After living there for a few years they moved to San Luis, California where they live today.
Today she lives in San Luis, California. Eventually she married Mark Parsons and together they have 2 sons named Colton and Conner.
Before she became an author she didn't know what to be. Her job was actually a teacher. She taught high-school math and computer science. She started writing to relieve stress. She published her first book which made her realize she could write for a living. So now she is a full time writer
