MR. Hubert O Sibley mini biography

SIBLEY JR., HUBERT O., 85, well known as President/CEO of the South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005. Raised in Atlanta, GA, by Hubert and Augusta Walker Sibley, Mr. Sibley graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in business administration. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he advanced to second Lieutenant. On May 23, 1941, he married the love of his life; a beautiful Southern bell named Madalynne E. Hughes, native of Comer, GA. Hubert and Madalynne traveled for several years with his job as an examiner for the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions. On October 1, 1950, he accepted a position as head of the South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union in Miami, Florida. Under his leadership, the credit union grew incredibly. Hubert and Madalynne were blessed with two sons and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel, 11220 North Kendall Drive (305-279-6644) Tuesday, January 18 from 6-9 pm. Memorial services will be at the same location on Wednesday, January 19, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hubert O. Sibley Elementary School/Media/ Music at 255 NW 115 Street, Miami Florida, 33168.

Hubert was loved by the many people whose lives he touched. He was known for his strong leadership; his outgoing and funny personality; and his drive to help those in need. Hubert was an active member of the Lion's Club; was Vice-Hubert was a great husband, father, grandfather, boss and friend. He led a life admired by all who knew him, but most of all by his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 loving years, Madalynne; their two sons: Hubert O Sibley, III (Mary), John Mark Sibley (Annie); and his four grandchildren: Nicole L. Sibley, John Mark Sibley Jr., Quana S. Sibley, and Shawn P. Cooper. Memories of Hubert Sibley will always warm our hearts and he will be terribly missed.

President of the Florida Credit Union League; and was a board director of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions. He received national recognition for a program he initiated for his employees designed to encourage healthy lives and good attendance at work. The credit union family, employees and members, were like family to Mr. Sibley. The scholarship program he initiated for the children of credit union members to attend college with a four- year pre-paid Florida scholarship was the first of its kind in credit union history. Mr. Sibley's crowning achievement was the opening of Hubert O. Sibley Elementary School in August, 2001. He received much joy for the successes of the students and staff at the school and will be remembered with love by all of them. Mr. Sibley retired as President of the Credit Union on January 7, 2004 after an amazing 53 years of loyalty and dedication. Upon his retirement he was honored by his loyal employees and members as well as many national figures.

FBLA is one of the most biggest clubs in america we compet in compitaions agaiste highschoolers and others we go on feild rips and create games to win

My Experience

Hubert is one of my favorite school yet, it has all my favorite subjects, and my favorite food. I experience this school as my favorite out of all. I've been in this school for 6 years, since 1st grade.
