Late 1800's
In the late 1800's there were 6 different British colonies which were like different countries. When travelling between colonies you had to stop at immigration at the boarders. The colonies had different laws, parliament and armies.

1889
In 1889 Henry Parkes gave a speech about Federation to unite the colonies as a single country. The speech made an impact and they discussed about being a Federation.
1891
In 1891 a Constitution draft was written.
1891
1899
In 1899 all colonies except Western Australia agreed to become a Federation. A bit later Western Australia said yes and agreed with the other colonies.
1901
In 1901 the Commonwealth of Australia was proclaimed a Federation with all six states combined .
Our first Prime Minister Edward Barton was swarn in.
