Bakery Cell Analogy

Cell Membrane

A door can relate to a cell membrane because it allows people to come in and out of the shop.

Cell Membrane

Cytoplasm

The floors of the bakery resemble a cytoplasm because the cytoplasm is where everything is placed, from the nucleus to the ribosomes.

Cytoplasm

Centrosome

They are similar because both headquarters and Centrosome because they have different levels of work, where they section of work.

Centrosome

Nucleus

The manager and the nucleus relate because the both are in charge and most important part of both the cell and or bakery.

Nucleus

Nucleolus inside Nucleus

A supplier is similar to a nucleolus inside a nucleus because without them they wouldn’t be able to sell food.

Nucleolus inside Nucleus

Ribosomes

The bakers are what make up the pastry’s and help feed you like the ribosomes in a cell.

Ribosomes

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum

Kitchen and the RER are related because the both make proteins/ food in a similar type of kitchen.

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum

The smooth endoplasmic Reticulum is related to a stove because it helps cook the food and remove all the bad bacteria off of it.

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum

Golgi Apparatus

The Golgi Apparatus is similar to the head chef because he is in charge and helps guide all the other bakers on what to do.

Golgi Apparatus

Vacule

The vacuole is like a pantry because it stores all the food in an animal cell like the bakery that stores all its ingredients in pantry.

Vacule

Mitochondria

The power lines are the bakery’s source of energy and is what is used to help the machines and ovens function, in a cell that is the mitochondria’s duty, to give energy to the cell.

Mitochondria

Lysosome

Lysosomes are the garbage when it comes to a Bakery, that’s where all the trash ends up.

Lysosome

Cytoskeleton

The walls are what support the building up like a cytoskeleton which helps shape out the cell.

Cytoskeleton

Cell Wall

The bakery's building is the cell wall because like the cell wall it has a wall that surrounds the entire cell to keep everything that inside safe and running.

Cell Wall

Vacuole (Large)

The storage closet can be related to the large Vacuole because they both have similar functions, they both store food and waste that is later used by the employees.

Vacuole (Large)

Chloroplast

Chloroplast resemble solar panels because if the bakery were to ever lose its power, the solar panel stores energy and converts into energy, this is similar to chloroplast because they do the same thing within a plant cell.
