so let's get started for the amazing adventure!!!!

Your Safety guide!

Amylase is an enzyme that breaks down starch and carbohydrates. Amylase is about pH of 6.8 it can be found near our entry point and Duodenum.

Caution

Protease is an enzyme that breaks down protein in the stomach. They are very dangers so you listen to your tour guide at all time.

Oral cavity

Mouth

This is our entry point to the human digestive system. Where all the digestion begins!

Mouth

Amylase enzymes are found here so be careful!!

Teeth

This white hard walls are the teeth that breakdown food to make digestion easier.

Teeth

Tongue

The soft muscle in your mouth is called the tongue. It helps with chewing, Swallowing, and sensing food.

Salivary Glands &

Salivary Amylase

Salivary Glands

&

Salivary Amylase

Salivary Glands job is to produce saliva and helps in digestion of food. Salivary Amylase is an enzyme that initiates the digestion of carbohydrates in the form of starch.

Pharynx

Pharynx, or the throat is a passageway leading form the mouth and nose to the esophagus and larynx.

Pharynx

Epiglottis

Epiglottis is a leaf shaped flap that separates the circulatory system form the digestive system

Epiglottis

Esophagus

Esophagus is a muscular tube that connects the pharynx with the stomach

Esophagus

Abdominal cavity

Abdominal Cavity

Cardiac Sphincter

Cardiac

Sphincter

Cardiac/The lowers Sphincter is at the upper portion of the stomach. Which prevents backflow from the stomach to the esophagus

Stomach

A muscular,sac-like organ its job is to store, digest, and push food into small intestine.

Stomach

Protease enzymes are found here we need to take extra precaution!!!!

Pyloric Sphincter

Pyloric Sphincter is like a gateway to small intestine form the stomach.

Pyloric

Sphincter

Liver

The livers main function, within the digestive system, is to process the nutrients absorbed from the small intestine. It also produces bile, a substance needed to digest fats.

Gallbladder

The bile (a digestive enzyme) that is produced from the liver it's stored in the Gallbladder. The bile is released in the small intestine and it helps to digest and absorb fats.

Gallbladder

Pancreas

The pancreas secretes digestive enzyme into the small intestine that help break down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

Pancreas

Duodenum

Duodenum is the first part of the small intestine. After food mix with the stomach acid they move into the duodenum.

Duodenum

Amylase enzymes are found here so be careful!!

Small Intestine

Small

Intestine

Small intestine is where most absorption take place. Small intestine is a 22-foot long muscular tube that breaks down food using fluids released by the pancreas, gallbladder, and liver

Large Intestine

Large intestine is responsible for processing waste. It absorbs water, minerals, salts, and vitamins

Large

Intestine

Pelvic Cavity

Rectum & Anus

Rectum temporarily stores undigested food and Anus takes charge of elimination of the undigested food.

Rectum

&

Anus

Thank you!

Hope you enjoyed our journey to the human Digestive System!!
