Jesus gave the right posture
Scriptural teaching on money
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teachings you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”
But how much will God provide?
Just enough for us not to starve?
Or a bounty?
Sufficiency and
Enough for our own needs
more than enough for help to others
Sufficiency
for basic needs and responsibilities
What about providing for the future?
Our most basic provision is to have Jesus as Lord.
What about providing for our children? Inheritance?
We may have these, but our trust is in God and not on these things.
Our responsibility for financial giving
Principle:
Every Christian is to support the body of Christians to whom they belong, where they receive their life support.
Contributions are used for the basic support of the life and mission of CFC
The rich and the poor
And this is my opinion about what is helpful for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give, but even to have such a desire.
2 Cor 8:10
The rewards of giving
1) Material well being
2)
Eternal well being
Our riches are in the life to come
