All of the planets are about the same age which is 4.6 billion years old. This information was indeed discovered by scientists. But how exactly do scientists get this extraordinary information? The wanted answer is that they study meteorites and other objects that successfully made their way past the Earth's atmosphere to the surface of our planet.

A cool fact about asteroids is that, long ago in 1801, while making a star map, Italian astrnomer Giuseppe Piazzi discovered the first and largest asteroid who's name is Ceres. Also astrnomers indicate that the asteroid belt was created 4.6 billions of years ago.
