The Maya civilization was a Mesoamerican civilization developed by the Maya peoples, and noted for its hieroglyphic script—the only known fully developed writing system of the pre-Columbian Americas—as well as for its art, architecture, mathematics, calendar, and astronomical system
The first hunter-gatherers settle in the Maya highlands and lowlands. Mayan farmers began to expand their presence both in the highland and lowland regions.
The Maya city of Tikal becomes the first great Maya city, as citizens from Teotihuacan make their way to Tikal, introducing new ideas involving weaponry, captives, ritual practices and human sacrifice.
There is a rebellion within Mayapan and the city is abandoned by 1461. Shortly after this, Yucatan degenerates from a single united kingdom into sixteen rival statelets, each anxious to become the most powerful.
The Spanish under Francisco de Montejo begin their conquest of the northern Maya. The Maya fight back with surprising vigour, keeping the Spanish at bay for several years
American photographer Giles Healey is taken to the Maya city of Bonampak by the native Lacandon who live nearby. Healey becomes the first non-Maya ever to see Bonampak's stunning wall-paintings, which reveal new details about Maya civilization.

Aztec culture, also known as Mexica culture, was a Mesoamerican culture that flourished in central Mexico in the post-classic period from 1300 to 1521, during the time in which a triple alliance of the Mexica, Texcoca and Tepaneca tribes established the Aztec empire.
Tenochtitlán- the Aztecs capital is settled by the Aztecs or the (Mexica). After roming around for perminet settlement the Aztecs settled in modern day New Mexico from thier orginal home at Azlan up north.
Aztec built of causeways with cannals around thier city being sorrounded by water. The Aztecs cannals were used like modern day Venisce and used aquaducts for farming and agricutural needs.
Establishment of the Triple Alliance between the Mexica, the Acolhua in the city Texcoco and the Tepaneca of Tlacopan. These cities became the foundation of the empire.
Reign of Moctezuma II, or Montezuma II, most famous of the Aztec kings and ninth king of Tenochtitlán. . Through warfare, Moctezuma expanded the territory south and icorperated the Zapotec and Yopi people into the empire.
Cortes allies with Tlaxcala, enemies of the Aztec, assault on the empire begins. On the 1st of July, the Spanish forces were driven back. The Spanish and their native allies suffered heavy losses and lead to the fall of the Aztec Empire.
The Inca Empire, also known as the Incan Empire and the Inka Empire, was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America, and possibly the largest empire in the world in the early 16th century. It was very isolated from the world located on a mountian range in modern day Peru.
The Inca first settle in the Cuzco Valley of what is now the country of Peru in South America. They control their land which strechas from Boliva nad as far from south Columbia and Northern Chille.
The Inca develop a record-keeping system using strings with various knots. They make over 15,000 miles of road with a relay system set up so messages can be sent quickly to the Sapa Inca. This allowed the Mayans to comunicat with people from the other side of thier territory.
The Sapa Inca has a council of 4 apus who are each responsible for one-fourth of the empire. The providences are ruled by a govener and are responsible for that area.
Explorer Francisco Pizarro sails to the Americas looking for gold and is the first person to discover the Incans. He ransoms the Inca ruler for a room full of gold, but then kills the leader anyway.
In 1911, Hiram Bingham of America discovers many Inca ruins, including the impressive Macchu Picchu. Though no longer in existence, the Inca Empire will always be remembered as a unique, organized, and advanced civilization that thrived in the mountains, deserts, and valleys of western South American.
