Summary
The book follows two woman who live in tormant because of the effect of the taliban has on the countries of Afaganastan and Mainly Preshwater, Pakistan. Najmah an Afgan child with the name meaning star, lives with her family in a shall vilage and Nusrat an American girl who converted to Muslim and then married Fiaz. They moved to preshwater to help his family during the war.
Then....
Nusrat
Fiaz sets up a medical center in Afganastan while Nusrat starts a school for the refuges in Preshwater under the shade of her backyard Persimmon Tree. Then Najmah comes to the school, Nur comes in later with news that they are now orphans alone in the world. Nusrat Is found of the orphan and takes them in.
after the news that Fiaz is dead the rest is unclear
Najmah is tending to her flock when she sees a black car assoiated with the taliban. She goes to warn her father and mother but they have no time to react Nur and Baba-Jan get taken along with all of the men of the village. Exept her uncle who after she leaves take the land. The first parent to die was her mom when a few days after giving birth to Najmah's baby brother gets bombed. She was the only surviver. Her neighbors and her travel to a reefuge camp. She the runs away to preshwater finds nusrat goes to her school. Nur joins with news of the death of the second parent. Nusrat takes the two orphans in and after that the book ends very open ended.

The human right that is being violated is artial 25 which states "food and sheltr for all" .The food cannot get there fast enough due to the taliban and other delays
My Fix
My fix
Drones
My fix is to have suvalance drones and delicery drones. All registered with all the governments. They are not against culture and while unconvetional they will see if by truck an area is safe of if not drop the food of themselves.
