You don't have to log into your DOE account to use Zoom! You can just use your AFSE account. This will reduce a step, making it faster and easier to join a Zoom class.
If you haven't already, let's log into our class through Zoom now. As before, you will find this link at the top of the Stream page in Google Classroom. There is a link and - if needed - a passcode to join.

Your task this week:
When you first go into your breakout room, take a moment to share you assignment document with your partners. they will be recording their feedback as comments in your document.
When listening, be sure to offer feedback that is:
• Specific
• Speaks to the goals of the design
Start with a glow and then a grow (or ask questions to clarify anything that seems unclear.
Then record your feedback as a comment in their project document.
You will be placed into a Breakout Room with 2 other students.
One at a time, as you hold your design up to the camera (or share your screen if you have a digital scan), be sure to talk about the following:
1. The issue you set out to overcome.
2. The feature(s) you included in your design to solve that issue.
3. How you designed your prototype to retain all the benefits of a regular mask.
Each feedback session will have 4 minutes, 12 minutes for all three students to share and receive feedback.
Expectations for the presenters:
1. Provide a complete and concise description of your design.
2. Provide justifications for your choices.
3. User sketches or pictures where possible.
4. Ask for and be open to feedback.
5. Five minutes for presentation and questions.
Expectations for the audience:
1. Listen closely
2. Ask questions
3. Offer insightful feedback.
4. Lead with positives.
5. Constructive feedback starts with things like, "Did you think about...?", "What led to your decision to...?", "I was wondering about...?", "Can you more deeply explain...?"
What is the purpose of design?
The purpose of design is to solve problems!
What kinds of things do you think designers need to take into account when trying to solve a problem?
1. Audience - who will use or access the design?
2. Research - do we understand the problem completely?
3. Constraints - what limits must be placed on the design?
Brainstorm (4 minutes): Go to our Google Classroom page and open the Jamboard linked to this week's assignment.
Due to the pandemic, we are all required to wear a mask when in public. Since this includes school, it means wearing a mask for 6 - 8 hours.
