Geomorphic Process & Impacts:

Geomorphic process & Impacts

The Geomorphic process of a tropical cyclone is a combination of a very warm sea surface temperature and heavy wind, the energy gathers together, which then results in thunderstorms. The energy from the thunderstorm then adds to the whole system, which results in a tropical cyclone. The impacts from this was that 86 people died and hundreds were injured.

The Speed And Path of The Typhoon

The Typhoon Tip became much stronger as it hit the open waters of the Western Pacific Ocean. It broke records in both size and intensity but as it came across Southern Japan the typhoon became weaker. It weakened, shrank in size and curved along the northeast on the 17th of October.

Examination of responses from individuals, group and government:

The government’s response to this disaster was speeding up the process so that survivors got food, water and medical supplies faster. The Philippines formally asked for help from Washington. The US George Washington arrived in Tacloban with 5000 sailors and more than 80 aircraft on board.

Management Strategies to reduce future impact:

You should maintain your trees all year round so that if a cyclone were to strike your area, you wouldn't have any large branches falling and destroying your home. You should also devise and evacuation plan with your family so that everyone knows exactly what to do and where to go if a cyclone hits. Keep your yard free from rubbish and have an assigned place to keep things like bins. Always have a safety kit and also have a kit thats supplied with a battery powered radio, lots of flashlights, extra batteries, medical certificated and important documents like that and it is also helpful to have a traditional phone which doesn't use electricity incase the power cuts out which is most likely. Remove any loose objects from your yard and put them in a secure place. This ensures that to will not be at risk of having thing destroy your house when they are moving around from the cyclone.

Fun Facts:
