Why did I chose to attend the course?

Why?

• it proves that you can understand and speak english fluently.

• I have always found English an interesting language;

• a new language allows us to communicate with people with different cultures and hence to live in a new country;

since comunication is the foundation of work.

After passing the exam you should be able to:

• communicate effectively face-to-face, expressing opinions and presenting arguments;

• follow the news;

• write clear, detailed English, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view;

• write letters, reports, stories and lots of other types of text.

The exam is made up of 4 papers:

Exam format

• Tests your use of English with tasks that show how well you can control your grammar and vocabulary;

• Requires you to be able to produce two different pieces of writing;

• Requires you to be able to follow and understand a range of spoken materials;

• Tests your ability to communicate effectively in face to face situations;

• reading and use of english: (1 hour 15 minutes) you are asked to answer different multiple-choice questions and to fill the gaps in a text with and without the aid of prompts;

• writing: (1 hour 20 minutes): you are asked to produce 2 different pieces of production. One is compulsory, while the other is from the choice of four;

• listening: (about 40 minutes)

you are asked to cross the correct

answer or to fill up the gaps

related to the recording listened;

• speaking: (14 minutes per pair of candidates) you and another candidate will be asked to describe two images, then you will be asked to discuss with eachother about the topic given.
