- Story:
- Rainsford falls overboard but survives by swimming to the island.
- General Zaroff takes Rainsforn in and provides him with food, clothes, and a place to sleep.
Inciting Incident
- Rainsford learns that he will be hunted by General Zaroff.
- If he is still alive after three days, he will be allowed to leave.
Rising Action(s)
Rising Action
- Rainsford sets traps for the General.
- Ivan, the General's dogs, and the General himself all become victims in some way to Rainsford's traps.
- Both men come in contact with each other many times throughout the rising action, but Rainsford eludes the General each time.
- When Rainsford is cornered, he jumps off a cliff and into the sea.
- General Zaroff believes Rainsford is dead and returns home.
