What schooling does it take to become a Veterinarian?

In order to obtain a degree in veterinary medicine one must complete a bachelors degree in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, animal biology, or zoology. One must then gain a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited college of Veterinary Medicine.

Veterinary School is highly competitive, Many Veterinary schools require that you have clinical experience such as volunteer hours at a veterinary hospital in order to be accepted into their program.

There are many jobs one can obtain from gaining a Doctorate of Veterinary medicine. Though nearly 80% of individuals with this agree work within a clinic their are a multitude or career options that range from research, government work, food safety, and education.

Starting any business will be a difficult task. If you open your own veterinary clinic you may need to expect to spend almost one million dollars or more in order to buy licensees, land, a building, and medical equipment.

Veterinarians have been reported to have high job sanctification. Veterinary medicine is a job that would not be consider "easy". This career takes a high level of dedication that many careers do not require. one truly does have to have a passion for helping sick and injured animals.
