The life cycle of a clown fish

Turebay Aizada 12PD

Each flock has a breeding pair and a few males that are unable to breed. Their role is not known. Spawning occurs for two hours in the evening in accordance with the lunar cycle, which stimulates male activity. During this period, the aquarium lighting should be turned off from 10 pm to 11 pm. Caviar is deposited at a water temperature of 26 degrees under the actinia, and in their absence - in the grotto or coral. The male guards and takes care of the eggs, removing those that are not fertilized. Occasionally, the female helps him in guarding.

Birth

The number of eggs depends on her age and fatness, and varies from 400 to 1500. Larvae appear after 7 - 10 days and feed on plankton. After 8 - 12 days, they go in search of actinia. Hatching from the eggs of fry leave the parental home, joining the plankton. After ten days of swimming, the formed fry by smell return to the parental home and settle in neighboring anemones.

Young Clown Fish-Fry

Fry

-The newly hatched clown fish are called Fry

-The fry must catch their own food. They will usually go for small, slow organisms that they can catch easily

-The Fry start off in a very orange colour but with age they become a darker shade

-At this stage the clown fish are beginning to adapt to their anemones

At the same time, the fish never create ties with their former parents and do not settle in their home. Also interesting facts clownfish, regarding their family relationships. They have an amazing social structure on the type of family hierarchy. The largest female and male in the family, mate, three or four other smaller individuals live with them. Despite the presence of several pairs in the family, only the larger fish have the right to mate, the rest are waiting for their turn. If the male suddenly dies, the next largest male takes his place. If a female disappears from the flock, the male changes sex and becomes a female, and the next-largest male takes his place and they form a pair.
