Marie Latelle was murdered in her parents' home around midnight in Lyons, France. The night of her murder showed no signs of break-in. Marie was dating Emile Gourbin, who got jealous when Marie would flirt with other guys. Because of their relationship, Marie would have let Gourbin in at anytime without hesitation.. Gourbin becamse a prime suspect but had a strong alibi from a big group of friends whom he was with all night. Because of this, they scraped under his nails for more evidence, finding powder and skin cells. This poweder turned out to be a makeup that was speciality made for Marie by a chemist in Lyons because makeup was not very populr at the time. Because of this finding, Gourbin pled guilty for the entire murder and coverup story, changig the time so his friends whould leave earlier than they tought so he could go murder Marie out of pure jealousy.

Although Gourbin had a strong alibi, Police suspicions grew when they took samples from under his nails, riveling powder and skin cells, ultimateky being discovered to be Maries custom made makeup made individually for her causing him to be guilty of the crimes.
