(beehives) in 2019
10,000
The potential market for the use of devices in the US ~ 2 million units
5% of the market - turnover in sales of
$14M with the average unit cost of ~$145
1,000
HOBBYIST BEEKEEPERS (~ 212K farms)
The largest segment generating a lot of sales of expensive configurations.
Are desirable for the Project, including its image, have the ability to demonstrate as many features of the device as possible.
SIDELINE BEEKEEPERS (~ 10K farms)
Desirable for the Project as the main cosumer of systems in various configurations and a wide range of different sensors
COMMERCIAL (~1,000 farms)
The most profitable crops in the USA and their dependance on pollination by bees
Area of almond plantations and the price of renting the bee colonies
No mass market due to possible extensive expences for consumers. Possible purchase of singular modules of the system (example - GPS positioning)
Autonomy of work up to 1 year
The system consists of several devices
Access your data from anywhere
Visualization of a lot of types of data
A wide selection of sensors allows to adjust the parameters to the needs of every type of a bee farm
Notifications about what is happening and what is expected
The bee colony maintains a constant temperature in the beehive. One may estimate the state of the colony by the temperature in its hive. One can determine the levels of honey in the beehive by its weight.
Sensors can both be independent devices or devices that can be installed in the cover of the beehive
Beehives are often left in the locations with minimal human traffic, but around lots of wildlife that loves honey. The sensors can alert you of shaking or moving and the light or the opening of the cover, which can indicate that something happened to the beehive.
Commercial beekeepers often move beehives from one spot to another, and it is crucial for them to know where their beehives are at any given moment.
Bees make noises at low frequencies. By knowing the frequency and the level of noise, one can identify events and issues like the loss of queen bee, readiness to swarm, presence of pestss and overall health of the colony.
Bee farms are often located far from humans and are left without supervision for months. Hub is used for constant data collection to the cloud and real time alerts about critical events and issues that happen in the hive.
Comes as a sealed and waterproof unit
A security camera can be installed/ connected to the hub if needed.
Capatious accamulator and a solar battery ensure uninterrupted work of the hub even in tough weather
Used for collection, preliminary processing, storage and transfer of the data collected from the sensors to the cloud server. Installment of several options is available.
Hub is placed in a sealed and waterproof unit with a handle and a spot for a lock. The lock can be installed to secure the unit or to prevent theft.
Cloud servers are located in the US and Europe
Virtual cloud servers allow for unlimited storage of data during the usage of the system, which can is accessible 24/7 all year round
An app for iOS and Android
The app is a tool for the initial system set up, its configuration and its monitoring
There are about 10 manufacturers of beehive monitoring systems in the world market
The systems from several manufacturers are able to connect to the American global system used to monitor bees
The Bee Informed Partnership
The usage of standard micro computers and hub modems accelerate the development during the initial stage, minimizes the initial cost and the readiness of the system for the market
Planned global market share - 5%
USA in 5 years
Sales start - Q3~Q4 2022
There is no need for additional FCC certifications due to the usage of the standard components of the system
The developed components of the system are expected to be produced locally during the initial sales stage. After entering the world market, it is possible to move manufacturing to China.
Sales will be done by local distributors in their perspective areas and directly with MSRP
Separately - special offers for local communities of beekeepers
Data exchange between local monitoring systems through the central server allows the use of a trainable neural network for the improvement of the forecasting notifications in the process of exploitation of the already sold systems
