Alexander Hamilton
Born on January 11, 1755 Hamilton was later abandoned by his father and his mother died of a sickness. After adoption he was found very intelligent therefore transferred to NYC and attended King's College, now known as Columbia University.
Hamilton was famous for writing 51 out of 85 essays for the Federalist Papers and when George Washington was elected president he was appointed the first secretary of the treasury in 1789.

During the Revolutionary War in 1775 he joined a militia company then in early 1776 became a senior aide to George Washington, America's commander-in-chief at the time. Also, in 1804, Hamilton was killed by Aaron Burr in a gun duel after he helped elect Thomas Jefferson instead of Burr.

When he was young, a hurricane went through Hamilton's town when he was writing a letter to Saint Croix in 1772 and he was one of the few who survived the hurricane. Hamilton also created what we now know as the coast guard.
