*Director: receives the script, considers overall vision of film, in charge of all aspects.

Production: the process of shooting a film before the editing takes place.

*Assistants: assistant directors, production assistants.

They keep everyone on track and on schedule.

*Lighting, electrical, and sound engineers.

*Gaffers and grips: in charge of the lights, the power, and recording devices.

*Shooting begins - directors need to have their script, storyboards, and production breakdown report.

Production breakdown report: planned prior to filming, includes equipment, cast, location, props, and costumes.

Cinematographers: directors of photography, shoot the actual footage being filmed.

*They know the cameras, the light, and work the director to capture their vision.

B-roll: supplemental footage in a documentary that is intercut into the main footage (landscapes, buildings, etc.)

Sound: boom operators - hold the microphone when the scene is being shot.

*Work with the sound engineer, record everything said or heard.

Actors: People who perform the roles in the script and have some time to prepare for production.

*Actors audition for roles and are selected for their ability to capture the director and screenwriters’ vision.

*Makeup artists, costume designers, and hairdressers help chip in with the look or feel of the character.
