Some possible solutions we came up with are:
1) Self Watering Garden,
2) Dry Farming,
Or
3) Rain Catcher to water crops
Our solution is to use a rain catcher to water crops for the hungry people of Madagascar. Madagascar has 2 seasons, a dry season and a wet season. Our solution is for the wet season.
Our product collects rain and waters an enclosed garden to make a sustainable food source for the people of Madagascar.
"How can I be a voice, for those who don't have one, to make our world better?"
Our team answered this question by building a prototype that collects rain & waters an enclosed garden. We built this for the hungry people of Madagascar to use in the rainy seasons. We are a voice for them because they have water but not necesarily the resources to collect it to water plants to make a sustaniable food source.
Engineering
Process
Some of the materials that we used are: duct tape, a box, a pipe, a jug and rubber bands. We took the shoe box and put dirt and seeds in it. Then we taped the pipe onto the shoebox and put a plug on the end of the pipe. Next, we hot glued the milk jug on the other end of the pipe. Then we put plastic wrap over the garden so it has the green house effect. This is what we did for our final design.
We learned that there are other people in this world who don't have the resources to stay healthy and to feed themselves. Our final thoughts are how to be a voice to help others! YAY!!!
