- Before arriving at campus I was nervous because it was the start of something new, but I had 5 other friends that were going through the same, so it wasn't that bad. Nevertheless, I was really excited to be part of the Carolinian community.
- I've been in campus since summer so my favorite memories are definetely from the summer since I had much more free time that what I have now, it was hot and I got to know most of my friends. But my favorite memory from the first semester is volleyball season. Even though it has been a long journey, it has been a fun one.
- My main struggle was balancing school and volleyball. At first it was hard, but after some struggles, I got the hang of it.
- My academic transition wasn't as bad as I thought. Yes, I had to keep up with all my classes at the same time I had games, practice, travel and workouts, but I think my high school prepared me for this so it wasn't THAT stressful.
- I used the same strategies I used in high school: pay attention in class, read, look for other resources and study from notecards.
- Some USC resources that helped me were the Dodie Academic Center, the math tutors at Dodie and my academic advisor from Dodie.
- The best part of being a student at the University of South Carolina is the athletic events. Other than that, I really love our campus. It's beautiful and peaceful.
- This semester I've learned that nothing is impossible and if you really want something to happen, work hard for it, never give up, and it will. This new knowledge will help me in the future because there are many obstacles in life. Some are harder than others, but now I know that no matter the obstacle, if I'm determined, I will succeed. One suggestion I have for incoming students next year is that enjoy every single minute of the rest of their senior year and the beggining of freshman year. Study, but make sure to always have fun. And what we say in the volleyball team: YOCO- "you only college once", so make sure to make the best out of it.
