Diet

Jaguars are known to eat deer, peccary, crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, deer, sloths, tapirs, turtles, eggs, frogs, fish and anything else they can catch.

Habitat and range

The mighty jaguar once roamed from Argentina in South America all the way up to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Today, jaguars have been almost completely eliminated from the United States and are in risk of extinction. The jaguar makes it's home in many types of habitats, including rainforests, swamps, pampas grasslands and mountain scrub areas.

In Maia Mythology, it is considered a sacred animal. The Indigenous use their fat to put on the children's bodies, as they believe that it gives them strength. They also believe that by eating the fat of the jaguar by using the tip of an arrow, they become more courageous.
