Contemporary Economic Global Development Timeline

Industrial revolution

Effect

The Industrial Revolution ushered in significant changes in economic and social structure.

A broader distribution of income and increasing international trade were among the changes.

To oversee the division of labour, managerial hierarchies arose.

Many individuals could no longer make a living in the countryside by the late 1700s. People increasingly travelled from farms and villages to larger towns and cities in search of factory labour.

Cities surged in size, yet they remained filthy, congested, and unhealthy.

Machines boosted output significantly. This meant that things were both cheaper to manufacture and to purchase. Many industrial owners grew extremely wealthy.

The birth of capitalism, European imperialism, coal mining efforts, and the repercussions of the Agricultural Revolution are all mentioned. Capitalism was a critical component in the development of industrialization.
